REPRESENTING children

a hopeful future

Like so many children, your son just make a mistake or found himself hanging out with the wrong group of kids. When you and I were growing up, they would have gotten a slap on the wrist or a police escort home without any arrest or charges.

I have seen with my own eyes how children are being arrested more often and prosecuted more severely for actions that often are just childhood mistakes. Unfortunately, law enforcement and the court system don’t see it that way.

I know it is scary to have your child arrested and watch them stand in court before a judge and be surrounded by adults who don’t know anything about them. That’s why you have me. I will stand with them, fight for them, and make sure the judge understands who they really are.

Children are different than adults in their brain development and maturity and, therefore, must be treated differently in our courts. Representing children is a specialized skill. It requires not only an understanding of juvenile law but also the science behind brain development and an ability to effectively communicate with children.

Your child needs a lawyer with this specialized experience. Lucky for you, I’ve got it. I have represented hundreds of children facing charges everything from theft and burglary to threats to gun possession. I have studied juvenile law and the science behind childhood development. I have the skills and experience to fight for your child in court and I will be relentless in my efforts to make sure your son or daughter gets the best possible outcome for their case.

HOW I WORK

Deciding on who to hire to fight for your loved one’s freedom is one of the hardest responsibilities a person can have. Lawyers make their websites look perfect and invest in advertising, so on paper, we all appear the same.

But we are all not the same. Most of the material you see on the internet can be paid for – nice photos, the words on a website, even many of the awards attorneys tout as a reflection of their skills.

As you make your decision about who to consult, I want to offer you transparency by sharing with you how I work on my cases. No case or client is the same. My goal is to create an individualized strategy for each and every client. This is how I do it.
